Overnight Guest and Grooming update

Just got word that this weeks transport filled and I will be overnighting a female catahoula named Allie. She is a flight risk and they thought I would be a good candidate to keep her. I live on 6 acres in the country and keep my guests inside.

I picked up a pair of Oster grooming clippers at petsmart and groomed my first victim...I mean poodle last night. Mollie looks really good I have her back/sides, neck, ears, head, and face done. I decided to leave her legs, feet and underbelly till later today. Didn't want to do too much on the first night. I did get her top knot a little shorter than I like but next time I know to use the longer comb. I will upload the pictures and post them on here in just a bit. This afternoon I am going to finish Mollie and then move to my next victim...I mean poodle.

All in all I think that grooming Mollie and Bobo at home is going to work out for me as it will save money and worry.

  1. Good luck with your overnight guest :)

Ahhh yes the famous home grooming. I do it too. It def saves money. My groomer did a great job but the prices were just too steep to handle. Good luck :)

  2. Can't wait to see the victims, oops, pups, and hear how they feel about this. We are so glad we don't need to have THAT done to us. It is bad enough we have to have our toenails clipped and the fur between our pads trimmed. But Mom says she bets you did a beautiful job.

  3. So how'd they turn out? You know what they say - the only difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut is a few weeks... How great that they will let you do this yourself - I'm sure it will be a HUGE savings in the long run!! Someone offered me a "super deal" on grooming for $25 for Brutus - Really?? He's as wash & wear as they come, so I can't imagine what it costs to professionally maintain a dog with a coat like theirs!!

  4. Can't wait to see pics....How did they do sitting for you?? I think Dory would be pretty easy but fret over whether I have the nerve to do Bilbo...

    Thanks for the update!
