Maltese Transport

Exactly why are we picking up more dogs? Aren't there enough at home?

hmm...

While we were away we had a transport request for 3 Puppy Mill survivors. We of course wanted to help!

First up is Simon the smallest of the trio. His tongue hangs out because he only has 1 little tooth left in his head. They were all rotted and had to be pulled.

The boy in the middle is Charlie (blue collar). He was a bit nervous and kept his eye on me the entire time. He wanted no part of being touched or talked to and gave me the stink eye when I touched the others. So sad to see him so upset but there are bigger and better things for him at Southern Comfort Maltese Rescue. The one with the pink collar was Sweet Pea. She really lived up to her name. She was just happy cruising along on the highway. She enjoyed my company and is going to make someone a great lap dog and furever companion.
Finally they all relaxed about midway and took a nap. They found comfort in one another and each had their head resting upon their furiend.

Tiny Simon was by far the curious one. He sat and watched the world go by most of the trip. He enjoyed seeing the buildings, cars, and green grass. Can't wait for the day he will get to lay in the warm grass and feel comfortable!

I talked to him softly and he laid his head in my hand. He looked at me with those eyes. He was an abused pup but he found happiness now. I know the rescue is going to give him all he needs until his new family comes along. To know this sweet boy was sitting in a tiny cage, only though of as a number just weeks ago makes me sad. But I am happy to know the rest of his years are going to be spent as they should have been all along, as a beloved pet.

Hey where are they going now?

A shot of the trio being loaded up in the next drivers car.

Later that evening they arrived in Chattanooga, TN with Southern Comfort Maltese Rescue. All are doing well and still awaiting their new homes. Some day soon kids your families will find you!

  1. Hey Katie!
Wow, what a great rescue! Those three are such cuties that I'm sure someone will scoop them up and make a wonderful pack.

  4. Ok...Mom is sitting here sniffling yet again. Such a wonderful story and a wonderful rescue. One day Mom would like to rescue either a toy poodle or a Maltese.

  6. Great Big Thanks you Country Mom! I hopes that each and every pup finds a lovin forever home real soon. I also hope that whoever did that pays for the horror that they put those pups through.
