Serger Machine

Still Spring cleaning.

One chilly March morning we were off on an adventure!

We were taking a quilt top to the quilters to be quilted.  While we were there she showed grandma this cool new machine called a serger and how it can finish a blankie super fast!!!!  So that gave grandma an idea...

First we stopped in Calio Country (sounds like a cat shop right?  Its not...we checked) to see what they offered.

My my look at all the fabric!

We found quite a few that would make nice dresses and quilts!

Their walls were covered with lovely quits.  Very inspiring!

Look at all the tools.

Then we found the sergers.  Grandma got the full demo and was WOWed!

While grandma was checking out the sergers we were checking out the quilts, purses and shirts on the walls.

We decided to do some price comparison and headed to English's Sew and Vac.

Grandma got another demo while we took a quick nap.

Here they let her play with the machine and really get a feel for how to thread it and use the different modes.

That coupled with the lower price and the lifetime training guarentee we chose a Brother machine!

Then it was time to pick the thread.

I like this shade of pink.

But I also like this one...this one...oh and that one too!

While I was deciding which shade of pink to get Bobo was checking out this super big En-border-Ing machine.

Paws up to this poochriotic quilt that English's had on the wall!

After we picked threads grandma wanted one more lesson in threading...This time we watched.

YEA!  She did it.  Looks great!

Then we wrapped up the machine in its like rain coat and went to pay the bill.

As we were leaving we stopped by the crafts table and saw a sock monkey.  You know How I love my sock monkeys!!!  And will you believe they sell "Make your own sock monkey kits"?  Very cool milk bones!

Last but not least these cupcake pin cushions caught my eye!

On the way home we had to fill the car up with gas.  When grandma came out of the store she had a surprise...

A crazy chicken!

I just love loud squeek-y toys!

Once we got home it was time to pull out the new toy!  Grandma put the edging on 4 quilts that night.
