Tuesday Telling: Key to the Clinic

Last Friday momma tricked us into thinking we was going bye bye to the bank but ya know where we ended up?

Thats right! How did you ever guess?

Well since nobody would have been home momma took us to the kennel with her while she worked. She did goat birth certificates, filled out triple registration forms and so on but before she came to get us Dr. Flanary gave her something. A key to the clinic. Seems as though the weekend kennel worker had other plans and they wanted momma to cover the shift. Both morning and afternoon shifts. Momma happily agreed. She seems to like walking, feeding and watering doggies a little too much! Anyhoo after the longest time like 853 million hours momma finally spung us from the boarding suite. And we were finally on our way to...

...THE BANK! Momma had to deposit her pay check and I had to withdraw some...

...Milk Bones! Yummy Yum!

Saturday morning momma went in to do her kennel work and found this little cutie. Its a Persian cat with a fun hair cut! Although the cat didn't seem to like being all nekkid and was a bit angry! Momma said that her spoiled mood spread to the other kitties in the adjacent kennels and they were all hissing at her as she tried to feed them.

Then she moved to the less angry animals...the dogs. Of course she fed, walked and loved on Spunky first! And somebody had given him a bed. How cool milk bones is that? With him being and older gentleman he sure needed the extra softness that only a bed can provide.

Momma finally got pictures of the nekkid doggies Rosie (Chinese Crested). However she seems to have furs to me. I mean yea they are short furs but them is furs none the less!

Then she showed us a pic of Eshan. Yep now thats a truly nekkid doggie! And he is being quite fashionable in his mini tye dye tank top! Momma says sorry its such an odd photo but its the only time he stays still. BOL

She also got to work with a Schnauzer named Nubby...

...A Shih Tzu named Muffin...

...A Shar-Pei mix puppy named Sadie...

...A boxer boy named Pauley and a Pointer named Harvey Jean!

Momma said it was a fun morning filled with fun doggies but the best part of the day hadn't even begun. I some how don't believe her but....

That afternoon momma said that I could go with her to the clinic. I quickly declined the offer. I have spent enough time there.

However she assured me that I could have free run of the clinic and I could do whatever I want. So I decided to join her.

Unlocking the door!

And heading inside.

Its kind of cool to have free run of the clinic! Just me and Buttercup!

First momma showed the the food fridge and the vaccines she made.

Then I went to the reception area and tried out Melissa's chair. Hmm...I think I could like this job!

Next patient please

Then to be funny momma put me in the surgery kennel. Then she stuck her finger in the kennel and I bit her again! You would think she would learn her lesson...but NO! And no I ain't ashamed!!!!

After she walked, fed and watered the dogs again it was time to head home. Come on momma lets go...its almost my dinner time!

Ok so the second visit was kinda fun but mommas gotta stop stuffing me in those kennels.

Mollie Jo

*Note from the momma: When I put Mollie in the kennel and I poke my fingers through the bars she does bite my fingers but doesn't do bite hard and the fact the she only has a few toofers doesn't make it to threatening. She is not being aggressive just letting me know she is sooo unhappy and being a brat. I don't want anyone to think she is really being aggressive or hurting me.

A Decade with Dogs

For years I couldn’t imagine what it would be like to have my very own dog. I filled my bedroom with many stuffed dogs, dog accessories, and even a purple dog crate to keep them in. I spent many hours on the internet researching breeds that were good for people with allergies. I found the poodle and fell in love with their curly hair.

Today I looked at the calendar and couldn’t believe that it was 10 years ago this past weekend we took a ride out to Mayfield, KY to look at a litter of poodle puppies. I had called a number we found in the paper and the breeder said she only had 2 males left. I hung up the phone and was disappointed as I wanted a little girl. My mom told me to call the breeder back and set up a time to “just go look”. When I walked into the breeder’s home she had a tiny chocolate puppy hanging in a grooming vest and was trimming his feet. At that moment I fell in love with his little chocolate self. Not to mention that he had one white paw which made him even more adorable. I told my mom I wanted him. The breeder had a price of $200 on him (she was going to keep him if he didn’t sell) and my mom said that either I could have the puppy or a Lee Middleton doll I had been wanting as an early birthday present. Well I decided that a puppy would be better than another doll and we came home with a little 12 week old Bobo. Thats where it all began!

When I first got Bobo I was a proud “Dog Owner”. I took care of him…with much help from my mom (Mollie and Bobo’s Grandma) and from Doggy Nanny. Over the years I transformed my life style to become a “Doggie Parent”. I never leave the house without the Doggy Bag, make sure they are fed on schedule (most of the time LOL), are fed a proper diet, have the best vet care, receive their medications, go on walks, have fun adventures, go shopping and most of all live with humans who love them for who they are! My schedule is made around my dogs so they don’t have to be left home alone. My mother (Mollie and Bobo’s Grandmother) and I split the errands that are not doggie friendly (where dogs are not allowed inside) so that one of us is home with them. And ya know what I wouldn’t have it any other way. My time is limited with our dogs and I want to spend as much time with them as I can.

Over the past decade I learned a lot about dogs. Such as how to administer medication, how to hide pills in cheese, how to teach an old dog new tricks, to have my camera handy at all times, how to sew dog dresses, how to make collars, the importance of a good veterinarian, what vaccines dogs need, if you have a well behaved dog you can shop most anywhere with them, free feeding equals free pooping, taking joy in the little things like a walk, the importance of quality kibble, that doggie carseats do save lives, that old dogs rock, and each moment spent with them is precious!

Now I can’t imagine my life without dogs.

We have had our ups and downs but it’s been a blast!

It’s truly a dog’s life and I am living it!

Car Shopping

With momma having her part time job and the fact that she will be getting a full time job as soon as she graduates grandma thought it was time to get a new car. They decided that momma would keep the impala and grandma would get a new small fuel efficient car. So two weeks ago....

We stopped by many dealerships but most did not have a car in our price range. That was until we hit Linwood.

We test drove a few cars and I liked this one. It would be small and fuel efficient but we might have to leave Bobo at home more often...there isn't alot of room.

Grandma said no and I was sad but...

We did find this cute lil car (although not as cute as the red one) and it has a sun roof so I will compromise!

Then it was time fur the monies part. They tried to do credit but grandma & momma didn't want a monthly payment. They said we would pay with CASH if we could reach a good deal.

They talked back and forth for like ever so I took a nap! But momma had a certain price in her head and really stood her ground. She got a grrreat deal!

When they woke me up from my nap they said we had to go to the bank to get the monies. And yes milk bones!

Then we sat in the lobby and waited fur Kevin (our sales person) so we could pay.

In return for the money we also got a car TAG (you know how much we love our tags) and it was time to head home!

This past week we took a ride in the new car and went to Mayfield. We had to get a permanent license plate and do lotsa paperwork.

I sure hope we is not here fur two whole hours.

When grandma returned she showed us the new license plate. Yea! Its a spay/neuter plate!!!

Now we are a two car family!!!!
