Sorry we have been missing in action. Here is how it all started.
Friday night momma got an urgent call about 9pm from one of her transport coordinators. They had a run from LA to WI for 3 terriers and 1 rottie and the Eddyville, KY to Metropolis, IL leg was the last to be filled. Momma said yes....but that she would need an additional driver as she has an impala and could not fit them all in her car. So everyone pulled together and we worked it all out. All day Saturday the emails poured in about the progress and we were kept up to date on the latest. Gypsy the Rottie was getting grumpy after traveling all night and all day so we were told that she was to be handled with care and not to be put in a cage....She warning snapped at a driver. When momma showed up to get Gypsy she just put all of that behind her took the leash and told her to hop in the car. Gypsy napped the whole time. When they arrived at the meeting spot momma walked Gypsy and watered her and didn't have a problem. When the next driver arrived momma was worried that she would have an issue with getting into the crate that was built in to the van. Momma just opened the door and told her in a firm voice "In the crate Gypsy". Gypsy walked in and set down like a big girl and after the terriers were loaded...The van headed north. Gypsy and the terriers did great the rest of they day and did great at the overnight. The second day was shorter for Gypsy and she was glad to be finished with all of that. The terriers made it to the rescue a few hours later. Everyone is in foster care and happy. It is just heartwarming to know what hoomans can do if they really want to. If momma wasn't allergic to dogs (other than poodles that we know of) she would have brought her home...Whew we got lucky on that one....She wouldn't have fit in our stroller...BOL BOL BOL!!!

So nice of your mom to do those rescue transports. Her work with the rottie just goes to show that pups, like kids, need direction and firmness with a touch of love for good measure.
ReplyDeleteLooking good at daycare.

ReplyDeleteYou must be so proud of your Mommy for helping those doggies find their forever homes. I am sure the rottie was just tired and excited. I am glad he listened and did what he was told by your Mom. You are very nice to share your Mommy like that. My Mom and sis are allergic to, that is why they have me. I am also glad I to see you both playing.
