Butterfly Facts

Hello furiends! Well today we will be sharing some interesting facts today about butterflies!

-Butterflies can see red, green, and yellow.

-Many butterflies can taste with their feet.

-Butterflies can attain a flight speed of up to 50 kph.

-There are about 28,000 known Butterfly species throughout the world.

-Butterflies and insects have their skeletons on the outside of their bodies, called the exoskeleton. This protects the insect and keeps water inside their bodies so they don’t dry out.

-Butterflies cannot fly if their body temperature is less than 86 degrees.

-Pollen gets attached to the legs of the Butterfly and is carried from plant to plant, assisting in fertilization and the propagation of new seeds and plants.

Wow...Who knew that! Well the two butterflies featured in todays post were captured by our mom while they were sitting on our lilac bush. We think they are both swallow tails but not 100% sure.

We got some surprising news from a fellow blogger. We did not know that some birds eat butterflies. So we went stright out and moved it to a branch on the lilac bush. We have seen the butterflies going to the lilac bush but not yet to the feeder. We think maybe its the old nectur we had we will be getting some new soon. Even after butterfly week we will post any new pictures of the butterflies in our yard.

We hope that you enjoyed Butterfly week.

Ok...Now like 3 weeks ago we promised you a boneafide product review of heart worm preventatives. Well it kept getting bumped....but it is scheduled for tomorrow. We hope that it maybe able to help some puppy somewhere.
