A Bonafide Product Review: Camera Edition

Hello and we are now returning to Product Review Fridays after a few weeks off.

Momma had been wanting to upgrade her old Kodak M753 (3x zoom and 7 mega pixels) Camera to something with more zoom and better mega pixels.

So she went to office depot a few weeks ago (sadly I didn't get to go) and began looking at the cameras. She liked this Cannon and had heard good reviews about it so tried it out.

This is the Cannon SX120 IS with 10 mega pixels and 10x zoom.

I assisted momma with the tennis ball zoomies test.

But all of my zoomies were fuzzy.

There are lots of different functions but no sport (which is what she mainly used for us). There is a kids and pets function but it didn't help at all.

Momma did like that the settings for viewing the pictures and the zoom button was on top and easy to use.

Momma did get some great clear shots if we were standing still....but really what doggie stands still all the time?

Momma gives this camera a B- because it has nice and easy to use settings and functions but if the subject is moving at all the picture will be blurry.

--------------------

Momma decided to return that one and go back with a Kodak (that's all she has ever owned).

She read many reviews online and found this Kodak Z915 was highly recommended. It is also a 10 mega pixel and 10x zoom camera.

Again I assisted momma with the tennis ball zoomie test.

As you can see the pictures turned out crystal clear. Just look at my fancy footwork!

Stretching with my tennis ball.

Look Bobo's hieny is flying...BOL

This camera has the sport function.

The settings are easy to control and change. Although she can't figure out why the date changes every time she turns it on.

The zoom button is located on top and super easy to use.

When fully charged the rechargeable batteries in this camera last a super duper long time...she is still on her first set of batteries. This camera also displays a battery icon that tells you how much life is left in the batteries. Momma says it very helpful.

hmmm...that boy's heiny is in the air again...STRANGE!

Momma gives this camera an A- only deducting points for the date thing.

Momma says that both cameras use rechargable AA batteries which makes them a little heavier and bulkier than the basic slim digital cameras. She says that they both were still light enough to carry around in her purse.

Momma says that after this experience she will stay loyal to her brand from now on. Kodak
cameras are the only cameras for her!

Wags and Licks,
Mollie Jo & Bobo

Pee Ess: Next weeks review will be Name Brand Vs. Generic Brand Heartworm Prevention Medicine. Is saving money on your dogs medicine a wise decision?

  6. Great review! I used to love my Kodak, but then I got a Nikon DSLR and I love that even more. But because its a big camera, it makes me look like I know what I'm doing - and I don't - so I just use the auto function and hope someday I figure out the rest of the settings.

  8. Great review!
My mom's first digital camera was a Kodak too. The only thing she did not like about it was that she had to recharge the batteries every day! Now she has an HP one but I thing the Kodak takes better pictures!

  10. Excellent review, Mollie! You can definitely see a difference in the photo quality. My Moms and Dad use a Nikon D40x. It was pricey, but it has the sports setting to snap the zoomies!!

    Have a pawsome weekend,

  12. Thanks for the great reviews. Our Mom is thinking about a new camera too. She uses a cannon now but sometimes the zoom thing doesn't work too well.
    Happy Easter.

  13. Hi Mollie and Bobo,

Great action pictures! My mom is not happy with her camera. It takes good posed pictures but if we move, it will come out blurry. I think she needs to invest in a better camera like yours so we don't have to sit still!
