Our Project and a Little Paw if Forward by Mollie and Bobo

We have decided that it was time we make our own post here on this blog. We had so much fun hosting Pink Baby that we are going to copydog. On Sunday afternoon we had momma take us to Petco to search for a special friend to send on this journey. Bobo and I could not decided on just one so we got two. I named my cow Moo Moo and Bobo named his sheep Baa Baa. Sorry we don't have any shopping pics momma forgot the camera.

We want to send Moo Moo and Baa Baa on a journey to see how many US and Canadian cities they can visit. Each host family may keep Moo Moo and Baa Baa for one week. Once they arrive blog about their adventures in your city so that we can see where they are and what they are up to. When your week is up make a post asking for a new host family. The first US or Canadian family to comment gets to host next. We are sending a scrapbook along with them so that each family can put in their favorite picture and a little note about what they did and where these two stuffies went.

Since momma is a dog tag collector we wanted to incorporate something for her in this project. Before you send Moo Moo and Baa Baa off to the next host would you go one of the Quick Tags Machines (located in Walmart, Petsmart, Petco, or a pet shop) and get a fancy tag with your name(s) and state engraved on the back. We will gladly pay for any tags purchased for this project. Just send us a peemail at kcwing@bellsouth.net . We will include two little zipper bags for the tags so they do not get lost.

The first host will be
Tank. I am sure these two will be in good paws with Tank in Kansas. Be sure to keep checking his blog to see when they arrive.

On to other business...

We have chosen to send a little Paw it Forward gift to Tank. I can't wait to see his face when he sees what we have sent him.

Story Telling Saturday

We were up early to get to the Graves Co. Shelter to spring Abby(coonhound) and Sammy(beagle/brittany pup). We loaded up and were on the road by 8am. My mom drove and I did the puppy wrangling in the back seat. Sammy was just a sweet loving little boy and sat calmly sat beside me and slept for most of the ride. Abby...oh my....Abby....What can I say about Abby...She first started digging in my transport bucket trying to get at the milk bones. Once she ate a few of those she became intrested in eating collars. I moved the bucket up into the empty front seat. She then saw an umbrella in the back window and decided it looked like a good snack. After trying for 20 minutes to pry that out of her mouth she then started digging in the floor board and soon came up with the floor mat in her mouth. Once I took that away and put it in the now full front seat I decided that she could chew on a leash at least that would keep her busy. 10 minutes later she had chewed one up and it was laying in the seat in 3 different pieces. OH MY! Finally we arrived in Mt. Vernon, IL and met Deb. Deb had a small bucket of water to give the dogs and when they were done drinking Abby picked up the bucket and dumped the remaining water and trotted off to play with her new found toy. Currently they are almost home...They only have about 1 hr and 45 min. to go.

Here is whats left of my leash...

My overnights....

Well we really don't know what happened at the shelter but the doggies that we supposed to have originally did not make it. I do know some made it to rescue but we don't know about the others. So Momma Mia and Peter (I named them) took their place. At least we are having an easy night with one pup and one momma. They are very small and very sweet. Momma is very scared but is comming out of her shell. Peter is terrified of the outside world and will try and hide in the grass. In any case two lives were saved!

Transport Updates

Good News!

I just found out that the Boxer mom and her 3 pups were taken into a local rescue yesterday. Also two of the lab puppies were adopted. So we will have the Lab Momma and 5 puppies. I was looking forward to having a house FULL of pups but at least every one is safe and we still get 5 puppies.

Earlier I spoke with Jen at the shelter and she told me that Abby Gail is about 1 yr old and has been living at the shelter since she was very young. I started crying when I heard that she has only known a kennel for almost her entire life. She is now going into a rescue and will hopefully be adopted soon and get the family she so deserves.

I am off to bed now as I will be heading out early to the shelter to pick up Abby Gail and Sammy. I will update Sunday afternoon.

It's Official...

...we are working two transports this weekend. Our first one will be early Saturday morning we will go to Mayfield and pull two dogs from the shelter, a coon hound named Abby and a britany pup named Sammy. They are going to a rescue in Washington, PA. This will be my first experience doing a shelter pull and I am looking forward to it.

Later that afternoon we will be picking up a boxer momma with 3 pups and a lab mix momma with 7 pups. We will be overnighting all 12 of them and then they continue their journey on Sunday morning and will end up in Fox lake, IL to a rescue.

A Tribute to a Fellow Doggie Blogger

Dakota
8/15/1997 - 6/24/2009

We were sad to read that a fellow Doggie Blogger, Dakota, passed away today. I, as well as Mollie and Bobo, enjoyed reading about her adventures over at The Chronicle of Woos. I know the pain her family is feeling now and hope that everyones support will help their hearts heal. The Rainbow Bridge is a little prettier now with such a beautiful doggie angel.

Dakota's family is in our prayers,

Katie, Mollie and Bobo

We've been Tagged

Sasha asked Mollie and Bobo to play a game of tag today. So here are the rules:

1. Go to photo files....select the 6th folder

2. Select the 6th photo in that folder

3. Post the photo along with the story behind it

4. Tag 6 of our friends to do the same thing

The 6th photo in my 6th photo folder was an out take from my "Harley Shoot". I had a treat in my hand as an incentive for them to sit so pretty Mollie was telling me "No more photos...Give that treat to me NOW!!!"

Yard Sale

The company where my mom works was hosting a yard sale and families were invited to come and sell some of their old things. We went and made $137 not much but our house is cleaned out now. Mollie and Bobo had a fun time people watching.

Amie and Shorty have Arrived

I just got home from picking up Amy and Shorty. They are just the cutest dogs I have ever seen and have such wonderful loving personalitites. Shorty(wirey white coat with brown and black spots) looks like a Basset Griffon Vendeen and Amy (jet black slick coat with one spot on her chin) looks like a schnauzer mix possibly w/ cocker. If you have any ideas as to a breed feel free to comment. Now on to the pictures:
