Howl-o-ween in the Park

The Howl-o-ween in the park was the event we attended this past Saturday. It was organized by a great local group dedicated to all things dog! We thank Lisa and Christie for organizing this they did a grand job! They had a costume contest, best trick contest, photos, and adopt-a-thon.

First we headed to Panera for some brunch.

They have the freshest milk bones around!

Look at Lane all excited to see us! He is such a sweet loving little boy!

Modeling his hat for the costume contest.

There was even a radio station covering the event!

As we signed up for the contests we go to meet one of the judges. She looks fabulous in her painted furs and fairy dress!

Just as I was about to say hello to this skeleton you will never believe what I saw!

It was puddles!!!! Sadly it was just her doppelganger, her name was Penny.

Look at this lively pooch. He is a 6 year old rescue dog.

Uncle Puppy thought he was pretty cool!

Uncle puppy also met this GIANT doggie a Great Pyrenees.

These pooches were soaking up the sun and watching the crowds.

This American Bull dog got quite alot of attention. How could he not he is just stunning!

Grandma went all gooshy (Mollieism) when she saw this pair. An Airedale (just like Miss Maggie) and a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier.

We also got to meet a Newfoundland. He is one big boy with slobbers as big as Mango's. Momma got to pet him and I got to sniff him.

This little doxie has such pretty markings. I loved her long red ears!

A brindle boxer showing some tonge!

This is Toby a mini poodle.

This is Gracie a Brussels Griffon and she is Lisa's dog.

This is Gracie's brother Rocko. What a cutie don't ya just love those ears?

Everyone thought I was simply adorable in my pumpkin dress and pink stroller. I had a lot of people taking my picture.

The Bluegrass Boxer rescue was handing out fancy homemade bones. It was so tasty and matched my dress!

About 11:45 they told all the doggies to get their costumes...the Contest was beginning at high Noon. Uncle Puppy doesn't seem to like the grape ape suit and refused to look at momma and have his picture taken....but...

...A stick of pupperoni will change any dogs attitude!

Lane couldn't wait to show us the tricks he had been practicing at home.

SIT. Nice work Lane!

LAY DOWN. Great job!!!

As you can tell from the last picture Lane had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction and had to do a quick change. Thank Dog his mommy had brought a back up costume.

When grandma pulled out the treats Lane went all crazy cracker doggie for the pupperoni.

Alright here is the part of the post you will all love a rundown of all the fabulous and spooky costumes!

We have an elephant....

...a skeleton...

....A pupkin, and a ladybug...

....A football player...

...a tiny cheerleader...

...and would you believe it a tiny football...

...There was a horse with saddle and rider...

...a shark that looks very hungry and seemed to be eyeing the hot dog...

...a sailor...

...a turkey that looks good enough to eat...

...a tootsie roll...

...a mummy named Max...

...a purple dragon...

...a pretty butterfly...

...Aunt B from the Andy Griffith Show...

...a hula girl...

...and it wouldn't be a pawty without a FLAPPER GIRL! I walked on my hind legs all the way to the judges table and did my twirls.

For the trick portion I did high five, sit and twirl.

Little copydog!

Once all of the doggies had their time in front of the judges the crowd started clapping and cheering. In all the excitement I became overjoyed and started doing my head rubs in my stroller. Everyone around me started laughing!

I couldn't believe it when they called my name for Best Trick and the best part was my vet Dr. Flanary, who was one of the judges, got to put the ribbon on me! How cool is that?!?!?!

I am a HAPPY GIRL!

This is the third week in a row that I have won top honors for my tricks! Momma said she is so proud of me.

Now if you thought going to one pawty a week for three weeks in a row was alot...well...This weekend we have one pawty on Friday night and then 2 pawties on Saturday back to back. Thats three pawties in one weekend! BOL I can't wait!
