Walking Wednesday with Hunny

For her second day of doggy daycare and after much walking around the yard we decided it was time for Hunny to go on an official walkie with us!

At first Hunny was not liking the walk.

Once She saw me and Mollie do our thing...

...She got the hang of it and got into her walk. Momma has to keep her on a very short lead or she will walk in circles. Its so sad...but she is making progress every day.

After the walk she had to face her big fear. Going through doors. After just a few seconds she ran at top speed inside and was ok. She jumped on the bed and took a nap.

We've been keeping a secret!

After Bonnie left momma said for the hundreth time that we are going to take a break and not take on any new fosters for a few weeks. Well you know how well that goes in this house.

When momma heard of a breeder dog that was no longer welcome in her home...Momma of course stepped up. We met the breeder in Cape Gireadeau, MO (at the petco...Plus momma got the new April baseball charm and a new tye dye tag).

The former owner/breeder stated that Candy (her old name) was raised in a house but timid of new people. We found out that later that was far from the truth. Candy is timid of EVERYTHING! We can only think that she was kept locked away in a small cage. On the car ride home she was scared silly. Every bump on the road and every car door closing made her jump. When we got her home (Doggy Nanny wanted to keep her at her house) Candy went and hid under the bathroom sink. So Doggy Nanny put her crate down there and she stayed there all night. On Sunday things were looking better and she was able to come out and sit on the couch with Doggy Nanny.

By spending more time with her we realized she did not even know her name. That proves she wasn't raised in a house with kids like her owner/breeder said. So Doggy Nanny thought a nice name would be Hunny and since its close to easter her middle name will be Bunny.

Monday ment it was time for the vet visit. She came with no vaccine records as promised so she had to get a full work up. Her heartworm test came out negative. Now she is legal and feeling good. Monday afternoon Doggy Nanny put her on the bed and she liked that. She moved closer and closer until she was sitting right next to the doggy nanny. During her time with us she would only pee in her crate at night after everyone had gone to bed. Monday evening the Doggy Nanny reported that she went pee outside. We all were so happy! And after that she ate a big din din, finally!

Even though this girl was so shut down at first she is coming around and stealing everyones hearts!

While Doggy Nanny is at work she is staying with us and is sitting on our big bed in the living room just watching us and learning what doggies do.

Here is Hunny Bunny

She had never been on a leash before so walking on one was super scary and she walked all hunched over.

She walked low to the ground.

The she got to meet us and we gave her the good ol two poodle sniff.

She would watch us walking around the yard.

Monday evening she sat out in the yard with grandma.

Then she picked a pretty spot by the porch and allowed momma to take her picture.

Here is her favorite spot on the Doggy Nanny's bed.

Flat Brutus has Arrived and Bobo's trip to the V-E-T

On Saturday we got a package...just before we left. It's Flat Brutus!!!!!

Well its time to go to the vet.

I lost 1 pound and now weight 16.6

Flat Brutus sat with us in the waiting room at the vet.

What is this...they put us in the cat room...OH MY!

Look at all the torture devices...and reading material about yucky parasites and pills.

There are my shots...AHHHHH!

Grandma was concerned about my itching the past few weeks and asked the vet what to do. Dr. Flannary said it was probably dry skin due to old man winter and too many baths (I knew baths were bad) so she gave me some oil toppings for my food. Anyone else used this and had good results?

We also purchased 6 months worth of heartworm preventative. Here is Brutus helping momma check out and pay.

Ok...Can we leave now?

After we left the vets office we went to our local flea market. Flat Brutus loved it...but we didn't find anything to buy.

On the way home momma stopped by Sonic to get a Route 44 Sweet tea.

Can you guess who we saw? Its the Cherry Limeade man!!!!! He happily agreed to pose with Flat Brutus and us. This location is the only location for many many miles that he visits. He is a local celebrity too!
Once we got home momma got some left over pizza out for lunch. Brutus thought it was yummy.
Oh yeah...momma got some birdie food for our feeder. We hope some birdies come by soon.

Pee Ess: We just want to say on most trips Momma and grandma go with us so if one has to run in a store we are not left unattended in a car. Also please excuse the date on mommas pictures. She can't figure out how to set it properly so it keeps changing. BOL

Here Birdie Birdie

This afternoon we were just sitting on our porch just watching our yard.

When momma saw a pretty bird and snapped its picture.

Momma got an idea in her head and said lets go!

To the shed we go!

There it is...The old bird feeder. Momma hasn't put it up in two years but decided that it was time to put it up again. She wants to get birds in the yard so that she can take their picture.

After a good cleaning she got it up on the pole....We didn't get any birds today...she said we have to put seed in it before they will come...so while we are out tomorrow we will pick some up.

Easter Photo Shoot, a Local Celeb, and a Pupdate

This was scheduled to post on Tuesday the 23rd but Blogger decided that it would not.

Any hoo....

On March 20th the Marshall County Humane Society hosted their annual Easter Photo Shoot Fundraiser.

The shelter mascot greeted us when we walked in.

Once we made our donation we started the shoot.

Mollie in the basket.

Bobo in the basket.

Together with Lilac.

For being such good pups we got bone treats!

Once the photographer is done taking photos they transfer all the pics to a cd for you to take home. While we waited for the cd I watched my bone and made sure no other pups tried to get it.

Bobo held his.

On the way home we passed a local car lot....and there was a local celeb in their parking lot.

OH MY DOG...Its the WKYQ Rabbit. We asked mom if we could stop and meet him. He was excited to see us.

When he reached down to pet us Bobo chickened out....but I....

I thought he looked like a big stuffed toy so I nibbled on his hand...BOL

What a fun day!!!!

Mollie and Bobo's ROTE

Today momma had some ROTE get done. So even though it was raining we set out on our adventure.

We went to the bank.

Momma sent up the deposit slip in a blue box & Mollie Jo watched the worker in the window.

When momma got the box back there were bone treats in it...OH BOY!!!

Then we stopped by the Domino's drive through window.

Momma got a small pizza for lunch.

We did get a bite fo the crust...Oh it was very tasty.
