News and Introductions

Now that I am doing online classes for college I will have time to update my blog. So check back often for more product reviews, transport/rescue news, and of course updates on my life with two poodles.

As only recently I have started blogging I some how have forgotten to introduce myself as well as my pack of poodles. So here we go...


My name is Katie and I am a college student working towards my degree in the Information Technology Field and specializing in Networking. In my free time I like to read, scrapbook and go to yard sales with my doggies. My pack includes one 9 year old toy poodle named Mollie and one 7 year old mini poodle named Bobo.


Bobo was only 3 months when I got him and was the first dog in my pack. When he was a baby he was chocolate with one little white paw but as he aged he slowly faded into the color he is now. I don't really know what color he is considered now but I call it faded chocolate. What ever color he is he still is my little boy.

Mollie joined my pack in November of 2003. After much thought I decided that I could handle another dog and wanted to get a playmate for Bobo so I contacted the breeder I got Bobo from to see if she had any puppies. As it turned out she did not have any puppies but she did have a "useless"(the breeders term not mine) female that she needed to get rid of ASAP. So I decided to take her and it was the best decision I ever made. I spent a year getting my girl to come out of her shell and become the wonderful companion she is today...but it was time well spent.

Here is their most recent picture....They just got groomed and I have finally decided to let their ears grow out and have a top knot.

Product Review: Dexas Collapsible Travel Dish

While at Petsmart I was looking through the clearance bin and came across the Dexas Collapsible Travel Dish. This item looked very handy so I decided that for $3.99 I would try it out.

After using this product for 1 month I give it a 5 star rating and would recommend it to any dog owner.

I love this product because it is small enough to fit in my doggie bag and collapsible so it does not take up as much room as the bowl I previously carried. This product also comes with a silver carabiner so that you are able to clip it to your standard or flexi lead which makes it convenient to carry while on a walk.

Leaving Dogs in Parked Cars

Summer after summer I see dogs left in parked cars on hot days while thier owners shop. I will never understand how people can be so careless with reguard to their animals. If you see a dog or cat left in a parked car call the police or animal control. The will take the proper steps to ensure the animal is alright.


When ever I am out shopping and I see a dog left in a parked car, I leave a flyer stating the facts of what can happen to the dog. I hope that by educating the owner, they will make better decisions in the future.

Summer is here…
…and leaving your pet unattended in a parked car can be a deadly mistake!

The Facts:
- On a 75 degree day the temperature inside a parked car can reach 125 degrees in a matter of just 30 minutes.
- Cracking car windows will do little to reduce the heat inside of a parked car. Also this gives people the chance to reach in and take a small dog.
- Once a dogs temperature reaches 105 degrees they can suffer from heat exhaustion and/or heat stroke in a matter of minutes. When this happens, many organs such as the kidney, liver, brain, and heart begin to shut down.
- Dogs with pug-like noses, seniors, dogs with long coats and young puppies are extremely susceptible to heat stroke or heat exhaustion.

Please take these facts into consideration before taking your dog with you and leaving them in your car on a hot summer day!

Visit to the Harley Store

I am a dog tag collector and decided that I would stop by Four Rivers Harley Davidson to see if they had any Harley tags. They actually had 10 different engravable tags for dogs. I purchased 5 for my two poodles. My favorite is the small bone with the pink Haryley logo and the stones.

Petsmart Birthday Party '09

On April 21 2009 Petsmart held it's annual birthday party. They take pictures, give goody bags, and play games. The goody bags were filled with ziggys(Mollie's Favorite), dog food samples, and a puzzle. After taking pictures and digging into the goody bag my mother and Mollie participated in the musical chairs. When the music starts you and your dog walk around until the music stops. The last pup to sit is eliminated from the game. Mollie placed second in "small dogs" group and third in "all dogs" group. The winner for the "small dogs" group was a 7 week old toy poodle puppy. We had a wonderful time and after all the fun and games were over we went shopping. We ended up buying name plates for both Mollie and Bobo's crates, a collapsible dog bowl for our doggie bag, a dog luggage tag for the dogs suitcase, and a blue stroller for Bobo when we go to the local flea markets.

Obama Family Dog

The Obama's have finally gotten a dog. The new dog is a 6 month old purebred Portuguese Water Dog named Bo. Bo was born and bred at a kennel in near Dallas TX, and was one of ten puppies in the litter. He was originally sold to a family in Washington DC, but was returned because the arrangements didn't work out as planned. Sen. Ted Kennedy was the person who arranged for the Obama family to get Bo. Coinsidently Bo's leneage is linked to Sen. Kennedy's own Portuguese Water Dogs.

Many americans are upset to hear that Obama family dog didn't come from a breed specific rescue or shelter. The Obama family is making a donation to District of Columbia Humane Society.
