True Colors Thursday and Other News

Today's true color is Chocolate Brown. There is no better color than that for me. When I was a wee little puppy I had a light chocolate brown body, deep chocolate ears and one white paw. My ears are what momma first fell in love with when she saw me.

This is one of my first photos...I was 4 months old (momma got me when I was 3 months) and just about to go to my first hair cut (since momma has had me). She said I looked like a Hippy.

I was about 8 or 9 months old here. This is when I started to fade...But my ears are sill CHOCOLATE!

Here I was about 1 1/2 years old.

Onto other news!

-------------------------------------------

So since momma read that sad story about the puppy at the groomers she has decided to groom us herself (with the help of grandma).

Back in 2004 grandma wanted to groom us and we didn't look so great so we discontinued it. Here are the pictures of what she did to us.

Mid way through the cut.

After the cut.
(sorry for the poor quality....these were taken with mommas old camera)

Momma and grandma will be working with a person (who only grooms their own dogs) to learn how to groom us. Hopefully we will not come out looking funny. We will update on our progress. Any tips or tricks are welcome in comments or pee-mail.

Also we are featured in Kylie's photo book. You can view it here. We can't wait to order a copy to show our Doggy Nanny, who is still in Texas.

  2. I've been grooming my dogs for about a year. My best advice is to make the investment an expensive pair of clippers. The cheap ones won't cut all the hair in one swipe and you'll just frustrate yourself and your dogs going over the same spot again and again.

That said, the dogs are getting a professional grooming before my wedding. But my veterinarian also has a groomer on staff. She's great with the dogs and really cares about them, so I have no worries. Although I will be asking how she dries them after hearing that story.

  3. Lovely shades of chocolate. Hard to believe you once had that much brown.

  4. I am sure your momma will do her best, but I expect to see some interesting photos.

Keep in mind that a well placed scarf or anklet can help cover up any grooming mishaps.

  5. Looking forward to seeing pics after the groom! If I had a dog who needed grooming, I'd want to do it myself, too.

  6. Hi Mollie Jo and Bobo,

I forgot this week's True Colors Thursday was chocolate brown! I could have done an entire post about me just as you did. BOL

Thanks for showing us how you've changed over the years.

  7. Great True Colors Thursday. We wish we could help with the grooming thing, but the extent of our grooming is getting brushed by Mommy every other day.

  9. Your colors are beautiful. Be very careful on the whole haircut thing. I don't care who does it, haircuts are evil.
