Momma has decided it's time to start sewing again. Once we got all the sewing stuff relocated from the storage room to the living room (where it will live for now) momma decided to get the embroidery machine out too. Since last October the machine has been acting up and making a mess of the bags. So she just put the embroidery machine away, thats part of the reason she quit sewing for a lil bit.
Anyhoo we got Lilac on the job and she got it fixed. She said that we wore down the needle by doing so many heavy fabrics such as the canvas bags. We will still do the bags but just a lil different in the future.

Once all that was worked out grandma began cutting the fabric....
...and momma ran the embroidery machine. This yellow square with our blog name is going into a furry special quilt.
When all the squares were cut out and the embroidery was finished momma began sewing the squares into strips according to the pattern grandma made.
....and the finished quilt top. Its our Valentines day quilt! We each have our name in a square, the date and the name of our blog.
One project I did with momma was making me a new rabies tag holder in PINK! Plus we got all the nylon cut and the hardware out for a pink and white collar.
Grrrrrreat work!! NOW... you should have your mom make MATCHING Collars, leashes, and a Wristlet fur herself. Have you seen those wristlets??? they are just like a very small collar.. that have all the same things.. butt your mom puts the handhold pawt of your leash through it... and then puts it on HER wrist. She will be Hands Free unless she needs to guide you some way or the other.
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with the IN BOARDER machine.
I am so impressed with your sewing skills! I wish I could sew like that! I love the quilt very much...very creative!
ReplyDeleteSo crafty ewe are (a pun about Lilac, BOL). Seriously, very impressive! Quilts to cozy up in, collars to wear - what else could a doggy ever need?

Mom thinks she needs to have Lilac look at her sewing machine - it hasn't been working right either, but Mom doesn't have time for sewing anyway:) That is going to be a beautiful quilt. You are so lucky to have such a talented mom.

We love your quilt. The fabric is so cute. Try using a Metafile or a Sharps needle with the heavy fabric. That is what mom uses.

I wish my Mommy could sew. She had an embroidry machine once but could never get it to work right so it was sent back to da store. Now she just has a plain old sewing machine. Dat is a very b-u-t-ful quilt!
ReplyDeleteNow that is one pawsome quilt! Like Amber, I wish my mommy could sew like that. She does know how to hem pants, though.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! Love the fabrics you choose. You are so clever!
Wow your mom makes lovely stuff, keep us up todate with the items she is doing :) Its nice seeing them
