Hard to Find Heartworm Meds

oh boy!  At the vet again.

I can't imagine why we are here.  No one is due fur shots...No one has any boo boos....

Wow that was quick.  We ran in and then ran out, but momma got these scripts.  Not sure what that is but momma seems happy to get it.

No you are saying we are heading to another vet clinic?

This is my "what the heck" face!!!!

So while we traveled from Paducah to Mayfield momma told us what was going on.  See the company Novartis who makes Interceptor has shut down their plant and right now are no longer making the medicine.  We were running low and momma really wanted us to stay on the Interceptor since it covers heartworms as well as a large variety intestinal parasites.  So she spent an hour on the phone calling all the local vet clinics to see if anyone had any Interceptor left.  Then we had to stop by Flanary Vet Clinic and get the prescription (as they have proof we have had the heartworm test and been on the meds) and go to Mayfield Vet Clinic to buy some of their remaining stock.  Momma is like a doggie with a milk bone when she gets an idea in her head.  BOL

Wow we are here already.

As fashion director I noticed this adorable print with some fashion doggies.  Too cute!

After we filed the paper work we got our meds, paid the lady and headed fur the door!

Each of us got a years supply so I think we are good!!!

Hopefully within a year the company will be back up and producing our medicine.  Until then we are stocked up!

  4. Another doggie on a med run to the vet today. At least there was no poking a prodding especially since you had to go to two vets!

  6. We are going through the same thing...our vet is rationing them out and will only give 1 at a time. Luckily, since it gets very cold here, we stop taking them in November and don't start until April. So we just needs to get through the next 6 months.
